Pete Fisch, the president of the High Point Downtown Stadium Foundation and of High Point Baseball Inc., came to Rotary today to tell about a few of the characters he has met through baseball over the years – such as a dancing usher, a trainer with two girlfriends, and two otherwise nice old ladies who liked to sit behind home plate and scream at the umpire the entire game – and to talk about what's new at Truist Point. What's new includes the Carolina Core Brews Fest this Saturday from noon to 4, followed by a professional rugby game that starts at 5. "A beer festival during the day followed by rugby in the evening – what could go wrong?" he said. He completed his talk to the club by leading the members in singing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game."
